GBL Strategy Specialist, Global Medical Accommodations

LuxembourgFull-timePosted Jul 28, 2026
The Medical Accommodations Global Relations & Strategy Specialist is a specialized individual contributor role within Global Medical Accommodations (GMA), created to align ROW stakeholders to our global strategy, ways of working, and technology direction — while ensuring their legitimate concerns are heard, addressed, or escalated decisively. A key objective of this role is to help GMA progress toward global parity between the US and all other regions, ensuring ROW associates and business partners receive a consistent, high-quality accommodations experience.

This role operates as a strategic stakeholder advocate and internal change agent — listening deeply to regional business concerns, evangelizing the global accommodations mission, having backbone when stakeholder requests conflict with global strategy, and bridging divides where local legal requirements demand differentiation. The specialist owns the overarching program direction and strategy for ROW stakeholder alignment, but executes through partnership with the Global Parity & People Accessibility Leader, SME/ACES teams, Technology, and others as required.

Key job responsibilities
Stakeholder Advocacy & Strategic Alignment

Serve as the primary point of alignment between ROW stakeholders and GAA's global strategy, building deep understanding of regional business concerns while driving adoption of global ways of working and technology direction.
Evangelize the global accommodations mission and technology strategy to ROW stakeholders, building understanding and buy-in for the direction even when it challenges local preferences or established practices.
Exercise backbone: where stakeholder concerns conflict with global strategy and are not legally required, push back respectfully, bring stakeholders on board with the rationale, or escalate with a clear recommendation.
Where stakeholder concerns are valid — aligned to global policy or driven by local legal requirements — identify gaps and partner with the Global Parity & People Accessibility Leader to ensure they are addressed through the Global Parity program or technology roadmap.
Identify and surface emerging stakeholder concerns proactively (e.g., self-service models driving unintended volume in EU markets, insufficient medical documentation friction creating compliance risk), working with relevant teams to close gaps before they escalate.
Treat stakeholders as customers: understand their needs, close the loop on their concerns, and drive accountability for resolution.
Propose and implement mechanisms to measure stakeholder satisfaction — addressing the current gap where manager and business partner experience with accommodation services is not systematically captured.
Provide structured, data-backed updates to stakeholders on initiatives and concerns they have raised — keeping them informed, engaged, building trust through transparency and follow-through.

Service Adoption & Awareness

Develop and drive a global strategy to increase adoption of GMA services across ROW countries.
Partner with country operations and HR teams to understand barriers to service utilization, and work with relevant teams to remove friction and increase awareness.
Track adoption metrics by country and region, surfacing gaps and recommending targeted interventions to close them.

Program Ownership & Cross-Functional Execution

Own the overarching ROW stakeholder alignment program and strategic direction, executing through partnership with the Global Parity & People Accessibility Leader, SME/ACES, Ops Center of Excellence, business policy/standard work teams, Technology, Legal, and Expansions.
Partner with the Global Parity & People Accessibility Leader to ensure ROW stakeholder needs inform parity priorities. Validate that parity deliverables address field concerns and drive stakeholder adoption of implemented solutions. This role does not own the Global Parity program — it serves as the voice of ROW stakeholders into that program.
Identify ROW-specific technology needs and partner with the Global Parity & People Accessibility Leader to ensure these are reflected in the technology roadmap and product requirements.
Facilitate cross-functional working groups and governance forums, establishing clear decision rights, escalation pathways, and accountability mechanisms across all stakeholder teams.

Process Improvement and Standardization

Conduct structured current-state analyses and future-state mapping, engaging cross-functional teams to validate findings and build alignment on solutions before scaling.
Facilitate process improvement initiatives across ROW regions, identifying fragmentation and inconsistency in accommodation workflows and partnering with the Global Parity & People Accessibility Leader and operational teams to drive resolution.
Monitor regional performance against defined GMA expectations and metrics that are important to the business — including new metrics where existing measures do not capture stakeholder or operational reality.

Senior Leadership Engagement & Escalation Management

Build and maintain productive relationships with senior leaders across Operations, PXT, Legal, and WHS — ensuring they are informed, engaged, and aligned on accommodation strategy for their regions.
Draft and deliver structured communications, leadership briefings, and status updates that are concise, data-backed, and appropriate for executive audiences, including contributions to the business's Weekly Business Review (WBR) and Monthly Business Review (MBR) mechanisms as required.
Proactively surface cross-regional risks with proposed mitigation plans.
Exercise sound judgment in identifying when complex issues require escalation, preparing clear, data-driven problem statements, root cause analyses, and recommended actions that enable leaders to make informed decisions quickly.

Data Analysis and Insights

Analyze case data, audit findings, stakeholder feedback, and operational metrics across ROW regions to identify trends, bottlenecks, and emerging issues before they escalate into systemic problems.
Build and maintain tracking mechanisms that provide visibility into case volumes, turnaround times, adjustment types, stakeholder satisfaction, service adoption rates, and compliance adherence across the ROW network.
Use data to prioritize program initiatives, measure the impact of implemented solutions, and communicate progress to stakeholders and leadership.
Quantify the impact of stakeholder-raised concerns (e.g., volume increases attributable to self-service rollout) to inform strategic decisions on technology deployment pace and sequencing.

Regional Expansion and Change Management

Partner with the Expansions team during active country launches, focusing on post-launch adoption and ongoing stakeholder alignment rather than launch execution.
Lead change management for stakeholder adoption of GMA services and strategic initiatives this role drives, including stakeholder communications, training development, and feedback loop mechanisms that ensure adoption and continuous refinement.
Document learnings from ROW implementations and contribute to a central knowledge base that enables teams to benefit from cross-regional experience and avoid duplicating effort.

- Fluency in one or more ROW languages (Spanish, German, French, Italian, or Japanese) (CEFR, C2).
- Familiarity with Amazon's GMA, GAA, PXT, or WHS systems and tools.
