Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Executive Director of Nursing (DON) Women's Services provides strategic leadership and clinical oversight for designated nursing departments or service lines ensuring exceptional, evidence-based care aligned with AdventHealth’s mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.
This role advances nursing excellence by upholding the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics, fostering a culture of safety, integrity, and whole-person care. The DON leads with purpose—driving quality outcomes, optimizing staff engagement, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration to support critically ill patients and their families in a dynamic healing environment. This role oversees clinical operations, staffing, budgeting, equipment maintenance and management, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement. The DON leads efforts to deliver exceptional patient experience, creating a care environment centered on empathy, communication, respect, and responsiveness.
Works closely with system and campus executives to craft and disseminate communication to ensure employee understanding and engagement.
Promotes a safe environment for all stakeholders and ensures compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Center for Disease and Prevention (CDC), and Patient Safety regulations.
Participates in policy formulation and decision-making, utilizing clinical expertise to review and update organizational policies and procedures.
Assists in service line proformas, capital equipment planning, and supply chain management.
Prepares, executes, and monitors departmental operating budgets to ensure appropriate staffing, professional development, space, supplies, and equipment.
Analyzes financial statements, manages financial resources, and educates team members on financial implications of patient care decisions.
Demonstrates leadership skills through timely, appropriate decision-making, organizational ability and priority setting.
Provides collaborative leadership to ensure consistent safety and service standards for the Patient Experience Model.
Develops and manages the implementation of system objectives and goals, monitoring clinical and operational performance indicators.
Builds strategic relationships in the community, including healthcare industry, informatics, and academia
Oversees clinical and operational performance for all areas of Women’s Services, including obstetrical triage, labor and delivery suites, antepartum units, postpartum units, women’s community education, and other women’s health programs.
Collaborates with clinical area leadership to ensure standardization of care for women across organization.

Education:
Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
Master's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:
2+ years nursing experience [Required]
2+ nursing experience required to include experience as a supervisor, charge nurse or comparable leadership experience. [Required]
5+ nursing experience[Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range:
$125,226.24 - $232,923.74Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
