Your Role

As a delivery Solution Architect within our Project Services team you will perform a pivotal role for our managed service customers. You will embed within the account, live and breathe their technology portfolios and help guide their evolution. This is a technical, hands-on architecture role so your skills need to be current. Delivery architecture will accommodate approximately 60-70% of your time. The remaining time will be assisting the project team in implementation. This split is a little bit flexible, depending upon the skills you bring to the role.

  • Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.
  • Ensures that the system design balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements. · Takes technical responsibility for all stages in the software development process.
  • Maintains and applies up to date, specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modelling techniques and design principles, and a detailed knowledge of the full range of database architectures, software, and facilities available.
  • Promote the development and exploitation of technical knowledge in the Practice.
  • Manages resources to ensure that the systems integration function operates effectively.
  • Specifies and designs large or complex systems.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional services to clients, passing leads onto the Client Development team. Lead relevant solution demonstrations, including complimentary technologies.
  • Provide objective advice, expertise and specialist skills with the aim of creating value, maximising growth and improving the business performance of our clients.
  • Contribute specialist knowledge to help identify issues and formulate possible solutions. Assist clients in the implementation of recommendations and/or solutions.
  • Provide support and guidance to peers and quality assurance across specialist solutions.

Your Profile

Have you got?

  • 10 years’ experience in technical or solution architecture
  • Traditional data centre experience with a focus in infrastructure and applications.
  • Experience building technical roadmaps that keep our customers’ environments business aligned, secure and minimise technical debt.
  • Taking customer inputs and developing solution and technical architectures, including gap analysis and work packages to close the gap.
  • Citrix, Hyper-V, VMWare, Linux, Microsoft cloud technologies.
  • Development and management of capacity plans.
  • Understanding of working in an infrastructure-focussed DevOps style of delivery.
  • Strong Azure and AWS skills and experience
  • Strong Level 3 Wintel experience
  • Expert AD, ADFS skills
  • Public Key infrastructure experience
  • VMWare VCP
  • Hands on experience with Exchange, and SCOM
  • Exchange and O365 administration experience
  • Hitachi Storage
  • Strong scripting skills to support automation efforts (PowerShell)
  • Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service
  • ITIL Foundations v3 Certification
