We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our Statutory Accounting and Taxation team supporting the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. This role will be responsible for Direct and Indirect tax compliance activities , coordination of external audits, statutory reporting, and interactions with statutory authorities. The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for local finance teams within Ecolab, external auditors, and professional advisors.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certification such as CA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong experience in Corporate income tax compliance .
- Strong understanding of withholding tax and related compliance requirements.
- Strong experience in VAT and indirect tax compliances.
- Knowledge of international transaction reporting and transfer pricing.
- Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in finance, tax, statutory accounting, or related accounting roles.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain statutory accounting concepts clearly to non-tax and non-accounting professionals.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, topics, and processes.
Additional Qualifications & Skills
- Corporate income tax compliance knowledge across MEA, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, South Africa, and Pakistan.
- VAT and indirect tax compliance Knowledge across MEA jurisdictions.
- Knowledge in preparing statutory financial statements and supporting statutory reporting requirements.
- Understanding of local GAAP requirements across MEA jurisdictions such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, South Africa, and Pakistan.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience in reconciling financial statements between local GAAP and US GAAP.
- Experience managing statutory audits in coordination with Big 4 or other reputed accounting firms.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver projects on time, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
