We are looking for an experienced Senior Development Lead to act as our technical anchor for the Earthworks API. You will pioneer AI-assisted engineering practices, guide our Integrations Enabler Team in Christchurch, and build the critical API integrations that empower machine operators and construction professionals across the globe.

What Makes This Role Great
In this role, you will lead the formation of a brand-new, purpose-built C++ team from the ground up. You will have technical influence on the Earthworks API, enabling critical integrations that improve construction efficiency globally. By championing AI-leveraged engineering and modern delivery standards, you will directly influence how our software is built, making a tangible impact on the products our customers rely on daily.
Key Exciting Responsibilities
* Spearhead the technical direction of the Integrations Enabler Team, guiding the team from formation through to delivery.
* Architect and review high-quality C++ components that power our Earthworks API.
* Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tooling within this new team to drive engineering efficiency and throughput.
* Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and global teams to align API development with critical product needs.
* Mentor junior team members and act as a technical resource across the CCFS engineering division.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
* Demonstrable senior-level expertise in C++ software development.
* Proven experience leading a small engineering team or acting as a technical lead on significant projects.
* Strong understanding of the full software engineering lifecycle, including automated testing and continuous delivery.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across multiple international time zones.
Bonus Points For
* Practical experience with GNSS, IMU, or other positioning and sensor technologies.
* Hands-on experience leveraging AI coding assistants in professional development workflows.
* Knowledge of the grade-control, construction, or heavy-equipment industry domains.
