The Role:
- Design market relevant, commercial products in close cooperation with the responsible Designers and support the Head of Design in the daily responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Designing womenswear knitwear and jersey following the design direction under the supervision of the Design Manager;
- The designer will help to elevate the product and will create design tech-packs and technical sketches to send out to suppliers. Including graphics and artworks
- The designer will attend regular meetings with design, merchandising, retail, developers to present ideas and develop ranges and ensuring strong ongoing business relationships.
- Researching of materials, trends and markets;
- Design proposals through 3D perspective sketches and full-scale front views ensuring detailed technical packs are completed;
- Ensuring thorough technical packs
- Ability to travel to the manufacturers and fairs
The Profile:
- Bachelor/Master degree in Fashion design
- 5+ years’ experience in designing commercial knitwear and jersey
- Understands trends and translate to KL women’s point of view
- Computer skills Illustrator, Photoshop and PLS (or other Design software)
- Ability to work with existing designs as well as to create your own ideas from these in order to offer innovation.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written
- Distinctive product taste level: ability to judge and balance superior design/taste level and commercial viability
- Strong market research and fashion trend analysis. Translate catwalk and street styles inspiration into commercial and innovative designs
- Focus on Customer: deep understanding of brand positioning and target consumer
- Demonstrate brand passion: be enthusiastic, energetic and positive
- Flexibility: easily adjusting to changing priorities and circumstances
- Performance: ability to perform under fast paste pressure in a highly dynamic, creative and commercial environment
- Efficiency: Work at a quick pace, structured and well organized, and able to keep overview of ongoing processes
