Position Summary
This position will assist with the execution of certified organic as well as sustainable viticulture programs in our premium Napa Valley vineyards. Working with the Viticulture and Operations Management Teams to monitor and evaluate viticulture practices including pest control, fertilizers, irrigation, crop estimation, data collection, and vine management. This position reports to the vineyard manager and provides excellent exposure to the larger world of Grape Management as well as additional cross functional collaborators including Winemaking.
Responsibilities
Collection and organization of viticulture data
Interpreting viticulture data with vineyard management team
Supporting sustainability, organic and other compliance programs
Attend relevant viticulture seminars and continuing education to stay current on vineyard issues
Build and maintain culture of health and safety.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to work extended shifts including weekends and overtime
Strong written/verbal communication skills in English
Ability to work independently
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Advanced communication and computer skills, MS Office
BS degree in Ag related field of study.
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual English and Spanish
GIS Skills
QAL or PCA
1-2 years of study in Viticulture or relevant work experience
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Involves prolonged outdoor exposure in a range of weather conditions, loud noises, toxic chemicals and working near moving mechanical parts. Frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouch or crawl in vineyards. Must be able to stand and walk over rough or uneven terrain. Must be able to move up to 55 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be flexible with scheduling and willing to work extended hours during summer months and harvest period. $29.18 - $45.65This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
