As a Claims Tax Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in conducting comprehensive reviews, research, and analysis of tax issues at federal, state, and local levels. Your primary responsibility will be to validate Peace of Mind and Accuracy claims, ensuring each determination is grounded in fact. This role demands exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep passion for tax regulations. You will serve as the expert, clearly communicating your findings to internal and external clients via phone, email, and Microsoft Teams. Additionally, you will collaborate with legal and client escalation partners to resolve cases, and work with software and training teams to minimize errors and enhance the client experience. Your role will also involve working closely with field offices to assist in resolving claims, mentoring peers, and reviewing claims for cross-training and maintaining consistent quality in claims processing.

 

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and correctly formulate solutions to highly complex tax situations
  • Ability to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis and evaluation of alternative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively research complex tax issues and effectively communicate findings
  • Knowledge of tax research principles, procedures, and techniques
  • 3 years minimum related work experience
  • Operational knowledge of tax law and regulations sufficient to understand and explain elements of personal, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, estate, gift, and international taxation
  • oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Writing skills to explain complex tax information in a clear manner and in plain language

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.

Work Experience:

  • Enrolled Agent, Certified Public Accountant or Attorney status (credentials regulated under Circular 230).
  • Knowledge of Federal and State tax administration to include litigation, tax compliance, and auditing

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

Pay Range

$53,800.00 - $80,700.00/Yr.
