The Stuttgart office of Trimble Inc. is looking for a skilled Senior Geospatial Cloud Software Engineer with a strong foundation in cloud technologies to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain backend services that power our scalable, secure, and high-performance geospatial cloud-based applications. You’ll collaborate closely with global, cross-functional teams to deliver robust APIs, efficient data processing pipelines, and seamless integrations across platforms. Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, and maintain geospatial backend services using C# (.NET Core / .NET 6+) * Build and optimize cloud-native geospatial applications leveraging Azure / AWS / GCP services * Implement RESTful OpenAPI spec APIs, data models, and asynchronous processing systems * Write Python scripts for automation, testing, data analysis, or integration tasks * Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of backend components * Integrate and manage SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) * Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) * Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and data teams * Conduct code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and follow best coding practices * Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical design decisions Required Skills & Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable professional experience. * 6+ years of experience in backend development using C# and .NET Core * Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also considered) * Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or backend logic * Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and distributed systems * Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) * Production experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server or similar * Experience with version control (Git) and agile development methodologies * Strong understanding of Linux system administration fundamentals. * Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code experience * Large scale cloud application experience, with demonstrable ability to troubleshoot and solve production issues. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) * Experience with serverless architectures (e.g., Azure Functions, AWS Lambda) * Knowledge of event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus) * Exposure to machine learning pipelines or data engineering using Python and / or Scala / Spark * Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Application Insights, ELK, Prometheus, etc.) * Experience with geospatial datatypes (coordinate systems raster, vector, point cloud, mesh) * Expertise in computer graphics or computer vision, in particular mesh or photogrammetry processing.
