Job Description
As a Security Officer Communications in Rapid City, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Dispatch Security Professional at a utilities location, you will coordinate communications, monitor activity, manage access control and badges, and support timely response to security-related needs. You will use computer or tablet systems, provide outstanding customer service, and help maintain an organized environment. - Provide customer service to utility operations personnel, contractors, visitors, and/or callers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Monitor and dispatch information from alarms, communications systems, and incoming calls; document and relay relevant details to appropriate personnel in accordance with established protocols.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; coordinate notifications and support emergency response communications when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, dispatch records, and shift documentation, including activity involving utility facilities, vehicles, and/or personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around utility operations areas and perimeter locations as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
Minimum Requirements:
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Access control and badge experience preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
