In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

  • As a Senior IT Business Analyst, specialized in Life Insurance, you will act as an interpreter between the worlds of IT and business, working closely with clients to gather requirements and ensure accurate solution delivery. You will utilize agile principles and methodologies to drive business outcomes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring solutions to life. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Define and implement business analysis strategies, methodologies, and best practices across multiple projects.
  • Lead the analysis and documentation of complex business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Mentor and guide junior business analysts, fostering a culture of continuous growth and improvement.
  • Conduct rigorous analysis sessions, upholding business analysis principles and values, and promoting high-quality project outcomes.
  • Serve as a key liaison between stakeholders and development teams, translating business needs into actionable requirements and ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Contribute to the overall business analysis vision and direction within the organization.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Strong knowledge of the Life Insurance value chain, including product development, distribution, underwriting, policy administration, claims, and regulatory compliance.
  • High professional proficiency of French and/or Dutch (C1 Level).
  • Proven domain expertise in Life Insurance products, including protection products such as term life, whole life, and other traditional/low-variance offerings, with understanding of product structures and customer value propositions.
  • Solid understanding of Life Insurance underwriting processes and principles, including mortality risk assessment, underwriting criteria, and the distinguishing characteristics of life underwriting compared to other insurance lines.
  • Experience analyzing and supporting sales and customer growth processes, including up selling and cross-selling opportunities across life and related protection products (e.g. disability or income protection).
  • Ability to translate business needs into requirements across life insurance processes, with knowledge of customer journeys, policy lifecycle processes, and operational impacts.
  • Understanding of risk, compliance, and regulatory considerations relevant to the life insurance domain.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to analyze, optimize, and improve life insurance processes, products, and customer experiences.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Experience with business analysis tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio, JIRA).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
