Job Purpose
The Physical Training Centre Supervisor is responsible for the safe, compliant, and effective management of the Female Physical Training and Fitness Facility under the KBR IFMS contract, ensuring full alignment with:
- KBR HSSE Management System
- Applicable local regulatory requirements
The role supports workforce health, wellbeing, and fatigue management while reinforcing IFMS Goal Zero, Life‑Saving Rules, and KBR’s Beyond Zero safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. HSSE Leadership & Compliance
- Demonstrate visible HSSE leadership in line with:
- KBR Zero Harm
- Ensure strict compliance with:
- Life‑Saving Rules
- MFDS Permit to Work (PTW) and isolation requirements (where applicable)
- KBR and IFMS HSSE procedures
- Develop, implement, and maintain:
- Risk Assessments (RA)
- Task Risk Assessments (TRA)
- Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for all fitness activities
- Ensure emergency preparedness including:
- First Aid and AED readiness
- Clear emergency response procedures within the facility
- Report and investigate:
- Incidents
- Near misses
- Unsafe acts and conditions
using KBR approved reporting systems.
- Support and participate in:
- HSSE audits
- Site inspections
- Assurance and compliance reviews
2. Facility Operations & Asset Integrity
- Manage daily operations of the Physical Training Centre, including:
- Gymnasium
- Functional training spaces
- Games Area’s (Inside and Outside)
- Stretching and group exercise areas
- Swimming and Sauna Areas
- Ensure the facility is:
- Clean, hygienic, and orderly
- Safe, ventilated, and fit for purpose
- Operated within approved capacity
- Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly equipment inspections.
- Coordinate planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance through maintenance teams.
- Ensure fitness equipment is certified, serviceable, and used in accordance with manufacturer requirements, to include pool maintenance.
- Control access and prevent misuse of equipment.
3. Fitness Programme’s & User Safety
- Deliver or supervise fitness programme’s suitable for:
- Shift workers
- Rotational personnel
- Physically demanding roles
- Conduct mandatory gym inductions for all users.
- Ensure users are briefed on:
- Safe exercise techniques
- Personal responsibility for fitness activities
- Support injury prevention, mobility, and fatigue management initiatives.
- Coordinate with:
- Site ISOS Medical Team
- KBR HSSE team
for wellness, rehabilitation, or return‑to‑work support.
4. Supervision & IFMS Administration
- Supervise gym attendants, fitness instructors, or subcontracted staff (if applicable).
- Enforce discipline, behavioral standards, and professional conduct aligned with:
- KBR Code of Conduct
- KBR Values and Ethics
- Maintain accurate records for:
- User inductions
- Attendance
- Equipment inspections
- HSSE documentation
- Provide input to monthly IFMS reports and KPIs including:
- Facility utilization
- HSSE observations
- Incidents / near misses
- Equipment availability
- Deliver toolbox talks and participate in KBR HSSE meetings as required.
- Prepare Fitness programs, welfare event calendars, manage sports events.
5. Client & Stakeholder Interface
- Act as the primary interface for fitness facility matters between:
- KBR IFMS Staff
- KBR HSSE and Site Services providers
- Site Medical team
- Address client observations, workforce feedback, and corrective actions.
- Support field wellbeing campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent KBR IFMS in a professional and client‑focused manner at all times.
Qualifications & Certifications
Essential
- Formal qualification in:
- Physical Training
- Sports Science
- Physical Education
- Fitness Instruction
- Certified Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer
- Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or medical experience
Desirable
- NEBOSH IGC / IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
- Experience working under KBR IFMS contracts
- Prior experience on Majnoon or IOC operated sites
- Mental health or wellbeing programme awareness
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience supervising a fitness or training facility
- Experience in remote, industrial, or high‑risk environments
- Oil & gas, EPC, EPCM, or construction camp experience preferred
