Role and Responsibilities
As part of the Retail Operations leadership team, this role is focused on building world-class learning experiences and content — working with a cross-functional team within both our North American headquarters in Plano, TX as well as our global headquarters in Korea — that results in measurable increases in recommendation rate, brand advocacy, and sell-through for Samsung Electronics America. Detailed responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Training Strategy & Vision: Define and own the end-to-end retail and field training strategy across direct-to-consumer (DTC) and indirect channels, aligning training objectives with Samsung's go-to-market priorities, product roadmap, and commercial goals. Translate business strategy into learning outcomes that measurably drive sales and recommendation rate.
- Product Launch Training: Develop comprehensive product launch implementation strategies that include gap analysis, budget planning, evaluation of internal resources, selection of delivery methods, content development, and post-launch evaluation of program success for every major Samsung product release.
- Curriculum Design & Content Development: Manage the development of all retail and field training content — ensuring every program arms retail salespeople, brand promoters, and field representatives with the knowledge and skills they need to sell and advocate for Samsung products. Content must be engaging, scalable, and tightly aligned to business needs.
- Program Delivery & Implementation: Oversee deployment of training programs across multiple modalities (in-person, virtual, e-learning, and on-demand), ensuring consistent, high-impact learning experiences across national retail partners (e.g., Best Buy, Walmart, carrier stores), independent dealers, and Samsung-operated channels nationwide.
- Field Representative Development: Determine and develop training and evaluation strategies for field representatives (Market Sales Managers / MSMs and Brand Ambassadors); serve as the subject matter expert for content that aligns field execution with business priorities and drives measurable performance improvement at retail.
- Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, PR, Integrated Marketing, and Category Leadership — as well as cross-functional international stakeholders at Samsung's global HQ in Korea — to determine content development needs, align on priorities, and ensure training reflects the latest launches and competitive positioning. Develop by-account learning strategies to improve brand awareness and advocacy at retail.
- Performance Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Provide on-demand reporting on training team performance, MSM performance, and training participation for all events and product rollouts. Use quantitative and qualitative data to continuously improve training strategy and measure impact against KPIs including recommendation rate, knowledge retention, and sell-through.
- Team Leadership, Vendor & Budget Management: Build and lead a high-performing training organization including National Trainers and Instructional Designers. Source and manage external vendors through Samsung's procurement process. Develop and manage the retail and field training budget, ensuring accountability and strong ROI across all program investments.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded leader who brings superior executional ability — capable of driving content and materials with accuracy and speed to impact Samsung's retail partnerships. Background in retail, digital/home appliance, or vendor community-based OEM environments is a strong plus. We are looking for someone who embodies the following core competencies:
- Creative: Creates learning experiences that enable the adult learner to achieve the desired learning outcome through innovative, engaging program design.
- Collaborative: Ability to work closely with various divisions of SEA, outside vendors, and global stakeholders — gaining business acumen and driving success in a timely manner.
- Critical Thinker: Utilizes quantitative and qualitative data to continuously improve training strategy, evaluate program effectiveness, and make evidence-based recommendations.
- Adaptable: Ability to switch priorities due to the demands of the business in order to meet new deadlines and rapidly evolving product and market needs.
- Strategist: Ability to translate business strategy into clear learning outcomes that drive sales performance and brand advocacy at retail.

- Demonstrated success leading training initiatives in both direct-to-consumer (DTC) and indirect/channel partner environments.
- Strong command of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM), and blended learning strategies.
- Track record of building and managing high-performing teams, including National Trainers, Instructional Designers, and third-party vendor relationships.
