Quality Assurance Supervisor- 6 Month Contract

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Supervises, schedules and directs the activities of quality auditors, and performs other related quality control responsibilities for the Quality Assurance (QA) department.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises quality auditing functions by interviewing, training, conducting performance evaluation, coordinating and assigning work, disciplining with coordination and consultation of the QA Manager, and other related duties.
- Monitors and evaluates quality inspection procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement and/or adjustment where needed.
- Overseeing or preparing paperwork and reports as necessary.
- Resolves quality related issues between the QA department and other departments.
- Coordinates with engineers, technicians, and manufacturing, or other department supervisors to ensure that quality standards are maintained in various production areas.
- Reviews the production process of various products to ensure that the product is being produced at acceptable levels of quality.
- Works with other members of the QA team to establish and achieve departmental goals.
- Trains QA Auditors on inspection methods, inspection/measurement tools and equipment routinely used.
- Uses various tooling and testing equipment to test products for quality including the use of gauges, measuring devices, optical measuring systems, comparators, calipers, etc.
- Escalates to Production and/or Quality Management if problems with quality arise.
- Ensures that the quality auditing operation is consistent with current QAP, GPS, and other applicable standards.
- Performs other quality assurance supervision tasks (IQA etc) or Engineering projects as required.
SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree.
- A minimum of three years of supervisory experience, preferably in a medical manufacturing environment and demonstrated ability to supervise others in a team atmosphere.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and quality assurance auditing methods, preferably in the medical manufacturing field.
- Ability to read and understand complex manufacturing and production information, including production drawings, work orders, and related manufacturing and quality specifications.
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to identify improvements in quality assurance methods and processes.
- Ability to plan and organize schedules to ensure adequate QA personnel resources are maintained.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to train employees and demonstrate measurement and inspection tasks to assist new employees with learning correct methods and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively as a QA team member to achieve objectives and goals.
- Demonstrated computer skills; preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
