Intern - Energy Markets Analytics Southern Europe
DNV’s Energy Markets Analytics Southern Europe (SE) team is offering an internship, looking for an ambitious, highly vocational and skilled student in Energy/Electrical Engineering with interest in energy markets and/or energy system modelling to support the activities of the Energy Markets Analytics SE team.
The tasks of the intern in Modeling will include:
- Contributing to the preparation of DNV’s weekly power market newsletter by analyzing market developments, producing insights, and supporting the further automation and enhancement of the publication process.
- Assisting in the development of new analytical tools, workflows, and digital solutions to improve the efficiency and quality of the team's services.
- Developing and continuously improving advanced energy market models used to forecast electricity prices, assess market trends, and optimize the operation of assets such as battery energy storage systems.
- A 6-month contract with the possibility for future opportunities.

- Currently pursuing a degree in Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in the European energy sector and power market dynamics.
- Practical experience with Python, SQL, as well as data analysis and mathematical optimization techniques (e.g., Pyomo).
- Familiarity with energy system modeling tools, such as PLEXOS, and/or PyPSA is a plus.
- Proficiency in English; Italian and/or Spanish language skills are an advantage.
- Proactive, curious, and willing to learn, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
