Job Description — MTS / SMTS, Salesforce Platform Engineer

MTS — Member of Technical Staff
Experience & Education
5+ years of experience programming with Apex, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages.
General experience with the Salesforce Platform and platform architecture.
Salesforce Expertise
Experience developing with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Aura Components.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
Experience with HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript.
Expertise in designing complex data models and working with relational databases.
Experience integrating applications through REST and SOAP web services.
Strong understanding of Salesforce security architecture, including user-based security models.
Engineering & Collaboration
Proven ability to lead and influence the design of new applications and platform features.
Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively communicate status, risks, and technical solutions.
AI Proficiency
Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar coding assistants to improve developer productivity, code quality, debugging, documentation, and test generation.
Familiarity with AI-powered software engineering practices, including prompt engineering, code generation, code review, automated refactoring, and leveraging LLMs throughout the software development lifecycle.
Experience evaluating and adopting AI tools responsibly while adhering to enterprise security, governance, and data privacy standards.
SMTS — Senior Member of Technical Staff
Experience
8+ years of industry experience in software engineering, with strong hands-on Salesforce / Force.com development experience.
Salesforce Expertise
Apex and Force.com development with enterprise-scale, bulk-safe, limit-aware design.
Lightning Web Components (LWC) with performant, secure, reusable UI patterns.
JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for modern Salesforce user experiences.
Salesforce data modeling, security, and sharing (OWD, Roles, Permission Sets).
Declarative automation using Flows with sound Flow vs. Apex decision-making.
Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and Change Data Capture (CDC).
Asynchronous processing, SOQL optimization, and performance tuning.
Architecture & Engineering
Experience designing and building scalable, secure Salesforce applications for enterprise use cases.
Proven experience with Salesforce integrations and distributed system interactions.
Deep understanding of Salesforce governor limits, asynchronous processing, and platform performance optimization.
Knowledge of event-driven architectures and enterprise design patterns.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing, and release management.
Soft Skills & Collaboration
Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships across engineering, product, and business teams.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguous and complex systems.
Proven ability to influence technical direction and improve engineering standards.
Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.
AI Proficiency
Hands-on experience using AI-powered developer tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar coding assistants for code generation, debugging, documentation, code reviews, and test automation.
Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI-assisted software development workflows, and integrating generative AI capabilities into enterprise applications.
