About The Role
As a Senior .NET Developer on our Accounting team, you'll play a key role in modernising Ministry Brands' accounting platform into a cloud-native Unified Accounting Service while helping shape the future of AI-native financial products.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll design, build and operate scalable cloud-native services while working with modern AI-assisted development practices. You'll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, UX Designers, Quality Engineers and fellow developers to deliver secure, high-quality software that serves thousands of customers worldwide.
You'll have the opportunity to work on both greenfield development and the modernisation of existing applications, helping to transform our accounting platform through cloud technologies, event-driven architecture and AI-powered capabilities.
What you'll do
Design, develop and maintain cloud-native .NET services and APIs for our Unified Accounting Service.
Modernise legacy .NET applications into scalable, event-driven services and microservice architectures.
Work daily with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools, reviewing AI-generated code and maintaining high engineering standards.
Collaborate with Product, Architecture and UX teams to deliver innovative accounting solutions.
Integrate AI, machine learning and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) capabilities into customer-facing features.
Develop secure, scalable and maintainable software using modern engineering practices.
Contribute to sprint planning, estimation and Agile ceremonies.
Support continuous improvement through automation, testing and CI/CD best practices.
Participate in code reviews and help maintain engineering quality across the team.
What You Bring
6+ years' experience developing commercial software applications.
Strong experience with C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core.
Experience designing and developing REST APIs and service-oriented or microservice architectures.
Strong SQL Server and relational database experience.
Experience with modern front-end technologies such as Blazor, React or Vue.
Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications, ideally in Microsoft Azure (AWS experience also valuable).
Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working within Agile software development teams.
Experience using AI developer tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted coding platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to software development.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
Experience modernising legacy .NET applications.
Experience within accounting, fintech or payments platforms.
Knowledge of LLMs, RAG architectures or AI-powered application development.
Experience with Apache Kafka, GraphQL or event-driven systems.
Knowledge of Playwright or automated testing frameworks.
Understanding of GDPR, PCI or other security and compliance standards.
