Job Description:

Preferred Qualifications:

Support and execute the delivery of events organized and ensure alignment with business strategy

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  Support with budget creation, approval, and reconciliation

  Venue negotiation and contracting

  Food & Beverage, Audiovisual, and Hotel Details management

  Execution of virtual events including webinars, town halls, etc.

  Oversight and management of event registration

  Creation of event sites, regular attendee reports, post-event reconciliation

  Post event analysis to identify opportunities to innovate

  Monitor and understand industry trends, identify issues and opportunities and provide recommended    action to stakeholders, gather and integrate information and research to support the development of events.

  Participate fully as a member of the Events team to create a positive environment of collaboration.

  Constantly strive to enhance knowledge across technologies, processes, etc.

  Support on various projects that further the objectives of the team and the business.

  Offer support and training for teammates across Marketing

Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest

Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit

Keep current on emerging industry trends and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques

Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team

Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities

Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the completion and performance of work activities; provide training, coaching and/or guidance as appropriate.

This role provides event management consulting to TD Securities businesses and represents the Events Team on various projects and initiatives.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance, and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork, and handling and / all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Provides event management consulting to TD Securities businesses and represents Events Team on various projects and initiatives
  • Provides a high level of client service, offering creative and innovative ideas and solutions by keeping on top of industry trends
  • Responsible for directing and coordinating internal and external corporate events (e.g., industry conferences, trade shows, golf tournaments and internal employee events), ensuring events are aligned with business objectives and the firm’s core values and are executed with excellence
  • Prepares budgets/cost allocations and post-implementation reviews for internal and external events
  • Responsible for overseeing and maintaining creative templates, liaising with Marketing and Technology departments
  • Handles special marketing projects as requested by executives
  • Liaises with external vendors and suppliers for special event functions
  • Negotiates contracts that are favorable to TD at preferential prices
  • Researches and pitches events that would be beneficial to the firm or specific departments
  • Contributes to Event Team’s efficiency and effectiveness by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and serve partners and clients better
  • Partners with Event Manager in executing charitable events and employee giving campaigns
  • Maintains proficiency with software applications/programs and/or department specific systems as required
  • Consistently exercises discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues as appropriate
  • Efficiently manages expectations/concerns through strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Keeps others in the immediate team informed and up-to-date about the status/progress of projects, and all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities
  • Be an effective team player and flexible in adjusting to changing work priorities
  • Participates fully as a member of the team and contributes to a positive work environment
  • Manages U.S. region season ticket and large arena venue contracts as well as disbursement and audit tracking for ticket supply

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate Degree or Community College Diploma
  • 3+ years of related work experience 
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated experience
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive in developing and implementing strategies that significantly mitigate risk
  • Demonstrates superior inter-personal skills, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills
  • Experience in a large complex/matrix organization
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Flexible and able to quickly adapt to unfamiliar, ambiguous or changing conditions
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, relationship management skills
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects as and when required
