Electrical Centers Design Release Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Centrers DRE to join our team at General Motors de Mexico. This role is crucial for leading the design, development, and integration of electrical systems within our vehicles, ensuring customer satisfaction and successful product launches.
Responsible for:
Leading the design, development, validation, release, and continuous improvement of Electrical Centers (electrical distribution and fuse box assemblies) throughout the vehicle lifecycle, ensuring technical excellence, manufacturing feasibility, quality compliance, and successful vehicle program launches.
Main Responsibilities and Activities:
Serve as the Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) for Electrical Centers, leading component design, development, validation, and release throughout the product lifecycle.
Manage engineering changes, part releases, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with GM engineering standards and quality requirements.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, product development, and suppliers to support vehicle launches and resolve technical issues.
Drive problem-solving and root cause analysis activities related to manufacturing, field, and quality concerns, implementing effective corrective actions.
Support APQP activities and ensure successful integration of Electrical Centers into vehicle programs while meeting cost, timing, quality, and performance targets.
Utilize Teamcenter, CAD, and engineering release systems to manage product data, conduct design reviews, and support global collaboration.
Work closely with global engineering teams, including Warren, Michigan, to deliver customer-focused and innovative electrical distribution solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or any related field.
Advanced English proficiency
Minimum 5 years of experience within the automotive industry.
Strong understanding of engineering release processes and design change management.
Experience supporting automotive manufacturing operations and production launches.
Knowledge of APQP and automotive quality processes.
Experience leading technical problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in Teamcenter, CAD Tools, Teamcenter Visualization and Engineering Release Systems
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
