Salary: USD $1,500 - $2,500/month (depending on experience)

Our client is a growing U.S.-based construction company with over 10 years of experience delivering public works, heavy civil, and renewable energy projects throughout Southern California. The company specializes in infrastructure improvements, concrete work, landscaping, solar foundations, and municipal construction. With a collaborative, hands-on leadership team, they are looking for an experienced estimator who can quickly integrate into their operations and support a growing volume of bids.
Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Remote Construction Estimator to join a fast-paced construction team supporting public works, heavy civil, and solar construction projects. This role is ideal for an experienced estimator who enjoys working on a wide variety of projects, preparing accurate takeoffs, coordinating with subcontractors, and helping deliver competitive bids.
You'll work closely with project managers and company leadership to prepare estimates for both prime contractor and subcontractor opportunities while becoming an integral part of the client's estimating process.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for construction projects.
Develop competitive bid proposals for public works and private construction projects.
Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.
Utilize Bluebeam, STACK, PlanSwift, and On-Screen Takeoff (OST) for estimating and quantity takeoffs.
Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and coordinate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
Review subcontractor quotations and incorporate pricing into final estimates.
Support bid submissions, revisions, clarifications, and preconstruction activities.
Coordinate with project managers and leadership throughout the estimating process.
Maintain organized bid documentation and estimating records.

Adapt to the company's estimating systems, workflows, and operational processes.
Qualifications
Required
3-6+ years of construction estimating experience.
Experience preparing estimates for U.S. construction projects.
Strong proficiency with:
Bluebeam
STACK
PlanSwift
On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and material pricing.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely full-time.
Preferred
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience estimating for California-based construction companies.
Familiarity with Southern California construction practices and standards.
Experience with public works bidding and Caltrans projects.
Experience estimating solar energy, water district, or municipal infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of concrete pavers, landscaping, sidewalks, and flatwork estimating.
