Summary:

Meta is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented leader to build, scale, and lead a new AI Partnerships group within Business Development (BD). As Director, BD — AI Partnerships, you will own the global partnership strategy for an emerging ecosystem platform, driving partner growth, and third-party integrations that accelerate Meta AI adoption across all surfaces.You will lead a team of BD professionals, set the vision for this external partnership ecosystem, and personally drive the most complex and highest-value partner engagements. This role requires deep fluency in AI/Gen AI platforms, developer ecosystems, as well as the ability to operate with high autonomy in a fast-moving, highly ambiguous environment.

Director, Business Development — AI Partnerships Responsibilities:

  1. Define and execute the global partnership strategy, focused on scaling Meta AI distribution through developer partnerships and third-party ecosystem growth
  1. Identify, evaluate, and close strategic partnerships across the AI developer ecosystem — including tool providers, API integrations, and platform services that expand the product’s capabilities
  1. Develop deep understanding of the product details to guide the Product and BD teams to areas where we can jointly create cutting-edge user experiences
  1. Own the end-to-end deal lifecycle from partner identification and contract negotiation through product launch, ongoing relationship management, and performance optimization
  1. Serve as the primary external senior representative for Partnerships, building and maintaining executive-level relationships with developers and other ecosystem participants
  1. Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Gen AI teams to translate partner requirements into product roadmaps and ensure technical alignment on integrations
  1. Collaborate with Enterprise GTM, AI Partnerships, and other BD functions to ensure that the strategy is aligned with Meta's broader AI distribution and go-to-market plans
  1. Establish clear metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track the health, growth, and ROI of the partner ecosystem
  1. Represent BD in senior leadership forums, providing regular updates on the pipeline, partner health, competitive dynamics, and strategic opportunities
  1. Build, lead, and scale a high-performing team of BD professionals focused on partnerships, fostering a culture of execution, accountability, and partnership excellence
  1. Develop the team's capabilities in deal execution, developer ecosystem development, and partnership management
  1. Drive continuous improvement in deal processes, partner onboarding, and cross-functional workflows

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of direct people management experience, with demonstrated ability to build and scale high-performing BD teams
  1. Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex, multi-stakeholder technology partnerships or distribution deals with large enterprise partners and developers
  1. Experience leading cross-functional deal execution across legal, finance, product, engineering, and executive stakeholders
  1. Executive-level communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent Meta externally at the most senior levels of partner organizations
  1. Experience interpreting and negotiating commercial agreements, including licensing, distribution, and co-development terms

$296,000/year to $356,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
