As a Field Service Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering technical service solutions at customer sites, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power systems and equipment. You will serve as a key customer-facing representative, supporting installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and service activities while contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Perform on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and testing activities for power transformer and electrification products.
  • Execute planned and preventive maintenance activities in accordance with customer requirements, technical standards, and project schedules.
  • Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and provide effective technical solutions to minimize downtime and optimize asset performance.
  • Act as the primary on-site technical contact for customers during service interventions, ensuring professional communication and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with Service Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to prepare service activities, spare parts requirements, and maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare accurate service reports, technical documentation, and recommendations following site visits and service activities.
  • Support warranty claims investigations, equipment assessments, and after-sales service activities to ensure timely resolution of customer concerns.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements throughout service execution.
  • Follow and promote Hitachi Energy's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, ensuring all field activities are conducted safely and responsibly.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable internal procedures, industry regulations, and customer site requirements.

Your Background

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, or technical support for power transformers, substations, or electrification equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with High Voltage (HV) equipment is highly desirable; Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) experience will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of power transformer systems, electrical equipment, installation practices, testing procedures, and maintenance methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product drawings, and substation layouts.
  • Experience coordinating field activities, managing service schedules, and supporting service execution in collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of service processes, safety standards, and industry best practices within power and utility environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in the field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Project Management certification or relevant technical certifications would be an added advantage.
