Job Description

We are seeking a Software Product Manager to own and drive software and workflow solutions supporting LC/MS data analysis. This role, located in the Workflows and Data Analysis Product Management team of Agilent's Liquid Phase Division (LPD), is responsible for end-to-end product lifecycle management, from concept and strategy through development, launch, and lifecycle optimization.

You will work at the exciting intersection of Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry science, software, and customer workflows, partnering closely with R&D, marketing, and commercial teams to deliver differentiated, customer-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product lifecycle for software and workflow solutions, including business case development, product definition, roadmap planning, launch, and end-of-life management

  • Translate market trends, customer needs, and workflow requirements into clear product requirements and prioritized backlogs

  • Define and continuously refine value propositions, feature sets, and release strategies to maximize customer impact and business value

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with software development, testing, and supporting functions to deliver high-quality product releases on time

  • Support ongoing product evolution, including enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance activities

  • Partner with commercial marketing to ensure strong product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution

  • Partner with peers in adjacent product management teams to ensure alignment between software products and broader workflow and hardware ecosystems

  • Help drive the evolution of Agilent's MassHunter software ecosystem and next-generation workflow solutions supporting LC/MS laboratories worldwide.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Conduct market and competitive research to identify opportunities and validate product direction

  • Act as a technical and workflow expert for your LC/MS products, supporting internal teams and customer-facing discussions

  • Contribute to product documentation, training materials, and enablement of sales teams

  • Serve as a key point of coordination across functions during product development and release phases

Qualifications

  • Typically, 4+ years of relevant experience in product management, software, or scientific applications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Analytical Sciences, Computer Science, or related field

  • Strong understanding of LC/MS workflows, particularly in mass spectrometry data analysis

  • Experience managing software products or software-heavy scientific workflows across the product lifecycle

  • Familiarity with Agile software development processes (e.g., backlog management, sprint planning, release cycles)

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and to translate customer needs into product requirements

  • Experience working in cross-functional global teams, including R&D and commercial organizations

  • Preferably, strong skills in market analysis, competitive positioning, and value proposition development

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $119,200.00 - $223,500.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
