Headquartered in San Francisco, Remedy is backed by DCVC, Blackbird, and Tony Fadell's Build Collective, among others.We are looking to hire a Design Engineer for our Software Team.What You’ll Do:Own the end-to-end design of the surgical UI, from early Figma exploration through to production codeBuild and iterate on the real-time robot tablet interface used during surgical proceduresDevelop and maintain a scalable design system across multiple product surfacesPartner with clinicians to shape intuitive, high-precision interface workflowsContribute to product-level visual and interaction design decisions across the software stackDefine UI verification and validation (V&V) tests in collaboration with the quality teamKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:Strong foundation in visual design principles, with the ability to justify decisions around layout, typography, color, and hierarchyAdvanced proficiency in Figma, including auto layout, variables, components, and prototypingSolid frontend development skills with the ability to implement designs in TypeScript, React, or equivalent frameworksProven ability to own work end-to-end, from early concepting through implementation and shipped productExcellent communication skills, particularly when collaborating with non-technical stakeholders such as clinicians and surgeonsMinimum Qualifications:5+ years of experience designing and shipping production-grade interfaces, ideally as a designer who codes or an engineer with strong design sensibilitiesA portfolio of high-quality design work that demonstrates depth of thinking and is available for detailed walkthroughPreferred Qualifications:Experience designing dense, professional-grade, high-stakes interfaces (e.g., medical systems, scientific instruments, CAD tools, DAWs, trading platforms, or avionics)Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Rive, Origami, Framer, or ProtoPieExperience in motion design and UI animation for interactive productsExperience with real-time data visualization using WebGL, Canvas, or custom rendering pipelinesExposure to 3D graphics or rendering frameworks such as Three.js or equivalentExperience contributing to or maintaining scalable design systemsPrior experience in medical device environments, including exposure to verification & validation (V&V) processes and usability testing workflowsApply for this Job
