We work with pioneering clients to develop their technology, design their products, and bring those products to production. Re:Build Fikst's areas of expertise include biomedical instruments and consumables, microfluidics, specialty plastic design, optics, industrial automation, robotics, and design for manufacturing. We have extensive in-house laboratory and rapid prototyping capability including CNCs, 3D printers, waterjet and laser cutters, which help facilitate our ability to prototype and innovate fast. As part of Re:Build Manufacturing, we are able to collaborate with other member sites and leverage a greater network of capabilities including composites, industrial design, structural analysis, and embedded systems design.

What you'll get to do

As a Principal Electrical Engineer at Re:Build Fikst, you'll have the opportunity to develop innovative electrical and electronic solutions for products spanning medical devices, robotics, industrial automation, life sciences, and emerging technologies. You'll work throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from early concept and architecture through prototyping, testing, verification, manufacturing, and production. Your work may include designing analog and digital circuitry, power systems, embedded electronics, sensor interfaces, instrumentation, PCB assemblies, and electromechanical control systems. In our hands-on engineering environment, you'll build, troubleshoot, and refine prototypes using industry-standard laboratory equipment while collaborating closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and industrial design engineers. You'll also work directly with clients to understand their challenges, participate in technical reviews and demonstrations, and partner with suppliers and manufacturing teams to successfully transition designs into production. Every project presents new technologies and unique engineering challenges, providing continuous opportunities to learn, innovate, and make a meaningful impact.

What You Bring to the Team

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience developing electrical or electronic products.
  • Experience taking products from concept through manufacturing in a consulting services environment.
  • Experience leading technical teams and mentorship/coaching.
  • Organized thinkers who can guide clients through the big picture while deep diving into the technical details.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design.
  • PCB design and layout experience.
  • Knowledge of embedded electronics and microcontroller-based systems.
  • Experience with electrical design and simulation tools such as Altium, OrCAD, PSpice, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience debugging hardware and validating designs.
  • A technical multiplier who measures their own success by the growth and success of the engineers around them.
  • Mentors who enjoy engaging with less experienced engineers to get great work done.
  • Curiosity, collaboration, and a desire to continuously learn.

The base salary range for this position is $165,000 - $250,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
