Position Summary The Software Development Engineer (SDE) will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable AI-powered applications, platform services, APIs, and automation solutions that support enterprise AI initiatives. This role partners closely with Product, Architecture, Data Science, Operations, Security, and Platform Engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions across cloud environments. The engineer will contribute to AI Platform products and foundational services, including LLM integrations, AI agents, observability, governance, redaction, analytics, and developer productivity tools while ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and best practices. Required Qualifications 3+ years of software development experience building enterprise-grade applications and services. Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go. Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, source control systems (Git/GitHub), and automated deployment practices. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and scalable system design. Familiarity with databases, data modeling, and data integration techniques. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum development environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience building solutions utilizing Generative AI, LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, or machine learning services. Experience with AI Platform services such as model gateways, observability, evaluation frameworks, or governance tooling. Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence practices. Experience with API security, authentication, and authorization technologies (OAuth2, SSO, APIGEE, PING, etc.). Familiarity with vector databases, prompt engineering, model evaluation, and AI safety/governance concepts. Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Kafka, or large-scale data processing platforms. Exposure to healthcare, highly regulated industries, or secure data handling practices. Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering best practices. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent combination of education, professional training, and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $72,100.00 - $144,200.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
