Business/Data Analyst
Research & Data Analyst

About the Role
SSI is looking for a research-oriented data analyst to support ongoing data research, validation, and data room management activities. This is not a QA or software-testing role - it requires someone comfortable researching information independently, exercising judgment, and working confidently with structured data and spreadsheets, similar to the mindset of a business/finance graduate.
Key Responsibilities
● Conduct online research (primarily via Google and internal source documents) to identify and confirm the official website/URL of companies referenced in client documents.
● Match extracted company names against existing records to determine whether an entity already exists, should be added as a new company, or discarded as noise/duplicate.
● Validate and, where necessary, correct company information such as domains, names, and other identifying details.
● Log into online data rooms and download new or updated files as required.
● Exercise judgment and apply consistent decision-making criteria when information is incomplete, ambiguous, or conflicting.
● Maintain accuracy, consistency, and audit-readiness across all research and data validation activity.
● Communicate clearly with the team on data queries, edge cases, and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field (BBA/MBA-type background preferred).
● 1–2 years of professional experience in data analysis, data cleansing, data validation, or research-oriented roles.
● Strong attention to detail with the ability to make consistent, well-reasoned judgment calls on structured data.
● Comfortable working in Excel/Google Sheets and general research tools (Google Search, LinkedIn, company databases).
● Good written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage a steady volume of research tasks.
Preferred / Nice to Have
● Prior exposure to fintech, investment firms, or financial data (e.g., market research, KYC/AML, equity/company research).
● Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, SQL, or Python for basic data handling (not mandatory).
● Experience working with US-based or international clients
