The Sales Strategy & Operations (SS&O) team partners with advertising sales leaders to drive business performance through strategy, analytics, and operational rigor. We combine structured problem-solving, deep business insight, and scalable execution to help the sales organization make better decisions, operate more effectively, and accelerate revenue growth.

You will be responsible for the operations of our annual Agency deals commercial framework which is a significant driver of overall revenue and critical to our overall business success. You will be able to connect Agency sales needs with system support and product capabilities across a variety of Pinterest products. The role will partner closely with other team members and cross-functional stakeholders contributing to launching a world class annual Agency deals program. 

This role is ideal for someone who is highly analytical, operationally rigorous, thrives in ambiguity, and can move fluidly between long-term strategy and day-to-day business execution.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and own the workflows that drive Pinterest’s global commercial deals program with the world’s largest media agencies.
    • Define systems requirements for Agency Deals and work to build/deploy
    • Systematize tracking of deal value/benefits 
    • Define and systematize agency attribution
    • Drive operational improvements that remove friction, create efficiencies and automate processes, allowing the commercial program to scale effectively
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Agency Leads, Finance, Revenue and Accounting and Legal to ensure stakeholders are aligned on program operations and stable workflows meet each team's dependencies. 
  • Manage the deal pipeline in partnership with the Agency Deals team including  on-demand support for Agency Leads and approval flows,  including managing exception cases
  • Lead internal trainings on operational best practice 
  • Partner with Sellers, Agency Leads and directly with Agency buyers to manage incoming requests to utilise Principal Trading value 
  • Structure recurring feedback mechanisms to capture seller and cross functional partner team feedback (e.g. standing weekly touchpoints, feedback surveys, etc); translate data and findings into insights and improvement opportunities 
  • Develop and maintain a strong level proficiency of Pinterest Products and solutions
  • Evaluate industry trends, best practices, and emerging digital technologies to enhance program content and competitiveness
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with Global Agency Team to identify program needs and development opportunities 
  • Partner with product development teams to develop BRDs and build new functionality to improve the operation of agency deals (e.g. in Ads Manager) 

What we’re looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience with demonstrated success in annual agency up-fronts, deals, program management, sales operations, revenue operations, or sales support roles with Agency customers. Digital media advertising industry experience preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce or other CRM application (e.g. Hubspot)
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant field such as business administration, economics, finance, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in understanding operational needs and leveraging data to identify trends and develop effective solutions
  • Adept at thinking both innovatively and critically, open to challenging the status quo and thinking outside of the box
  • Highly organized, proficient in time management, detail-oriented and operationally and strategically focused. 
  • Communicates effectively – Attentively listens to others, provides timely and helpful information, and is effective in a range of professional settings. 
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing cross-functional teams to drive outcomes.
  • Manages ambiguity and complexity - Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. This role requires the ability to navigate complex digital media industry topics 
  • “Builder” mindset - proven ability to independently identify problems and pursue solutions for them
  • Ability to independently plan & prioritize across multiple projects with diverse objectives & needs
  • Understanding of sales and digital advertising platforms is strongly preferred.

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection. This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/month and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from the New York or San Francisco office.
