Sr. Equipment Engineering Section Head
We are looking for a Senior Section Head – Tester (ATE) Engineering that will be responsible for leading and managing the Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Engineering PM and Board Repair function. This role drives the strategy and execution of initiatives to ensure equipment reliability, availability and operational efficiency.
The position requires strong technical expertise in ATE systems, test methodologies, troubleshooting, coupled with effective leadership of multidisciplinary teams. The Senior Section Head collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Business Units, Site Product Engineering, and Quality teams to address barriers in improving overall equipment effectiveness.
- Lead, develop, and manage the Tester Equipment Engineering team to achieve operational and business objectives.
- Provide technical leadership of a cross-functional team to drive closure of dog devices related to tester hardware, software, interface issues and test-related issues.
- oach and mentor engineers and technicians to enhance technical competency and leadership capability.
- Optimize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Own the overall health, reliability, and availability of production test equipment by driving improvement of KPIs such as uptime, MTBF and utilization towards entitlement
- Develop tester capacity plans aligned with production forecasts and business requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through equipment optimization, spare parts management and board repair capability expansion.
- Ensure accurate documentation for equipment configurations, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance records.
- Ensure tester equipment complies with quality, environmental, and safety standards. Support internal, customer, and external audits.
- Monitor engineering KPIs, deliver cost-saving projects against annual targets and provide regular performance reports to management.
- Identify future technology requirements and recommend investments to enhance manufacturing capability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams, supervisors, or section heads.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams, strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong expertise in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems, deployment, improvement and sustainment.
- In-depth knowledge of electronics, circuit analysis, digital and analog testing, and test methodologies
- Knowledge of manufacturing test and wafer probe processes.
- Familiarity with test platforms such as Advantest, Teradyne, ETS, or equivalent ATE systems.
- Knowledge of quality systems methodologies such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, 8D, CAPA, Lean Manufacturing and metrology disciplines
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with global and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in Test/Product Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI), product qualification, and manufacturing transfer activities is a plus.
