Earlier this year (March 2026), Unilever announced an agreement to separate our Foods business. Our Foods business, including brands such as Hellmann's and Knorr, will join forces with McCormick to become a global flavour leader, with leading positions across spices, seasonings, condiments and complementary food categories, supported by a strong retail and foodservice platform. McCormick has 135+ years of heritage, a presence in 150+ countries and territories, and a portfolio of trusted brands. The transaction remains subject to consultation, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions with a targeted deal close of mid-2027.

We work with Hotels, Restaurants, Caterers, Cafeterias, and Foodservice Operators to create exciting menus that are good for diners and good for the planet. Our brands include Knorr, Best Foods, and Lady’s Choice—trusted and used by chefs and foodservice operators every day.

We’re searching for a Demand Creation Chef who will work closely with foodservice operators, distributors, and Customer Development teams to drive product demand, create operator-ready culinary solutions, and accelerate business growth through innovation, sampling, and culinary expertise.


You will develop and execute business plans alongside the cross-functional team, with the objective of creating demand, supporting sales growth, increasing SKU penetration, and improving operator conversion.


Main Job Purpose:
The Demand Creation Chef at Unilever Food Solutions is responsible for driving product demand and operator conversion through culinary expertise, solution selling, product sampling, and training. This role collaborates closely with Customer Development, Marketing, CD Capability, and Culinary teams to execute innovative culinary solutions that support business growth.

The Demand Creation Chef is expected to professionally represent the Unilever Food Solutions brand at all times and utilize culinary expertise to influence operator adoption and increase product penetration within assigned territories.

What Will Your Main Responsibilities Be:


Demand Creation & Product Sampling
Execute impactful and operator-relevant product samplings focused on priority UFS SKUs, innovation launches, and menu solutions. Ensure sampling activities are supported by recipes, costing, and commercial rationale to drive product acceptance and conversion.

Operator Engagement & Solution Selling
Work directly with foodservice operators to understand business challenges and provide practical menu and product solutions that improve profitability, efficiency, and diner satisfaction. Translate product benefits into commercial opportunities for operators.

Culinary Demonstrations & Product Application
Conduct culinary demonstrations, cooking showcases, and product application sessions that inspire customers and demonstrate the versatility, functionality, and value of UFS products.

Product Knowledge Transfer
Deliver product application training and technical product knowledge transfer to operators, distributor partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring confidence in the use of UFS products.

Innovation & Ideation Support
Support culinary ideations and innovation initiatives in partnership with the Culinary Team and Area Chef Partners through approved culinary briefs. Assist in transforming business opportunities into commercially relevant dish solutions.

Culinary Training Support
Support chefmanship and capability-building programs, including MCQT, Basic Culinary Training (BCT), Product Knowledge Transfer (PKT), and other learning interventions for operators and internal teams.

Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with operators, distributors, and foodservice stakeholders within assigned territories. Act as a key culinary contact responsible for creating trust and driving operator loyalty.

Marketing Activation Support
Provide culinary support to marketing-led activations, trade shows, masterclasses, and customer events through compelling food solutions, demonstrations, and product storytelling.

Business Discipline & Planning
Maintain disciplined route planning, budget stewardship, reporting accuracy, and activity tracking through effective Personal Journey Planning (PJP), aligned with the RSM and CD Team.

Key Deliverables

  • Demand Creation Execution -Successfully execute operator-focused sampling activities and culinary engagements that drive product acceptance, trial, and menu penetration of priority and innovation SKUs.
  • Product Acceptance & Conversion -Achieve defined acceptance, strike rate, and launch targets through relevant dish solutions and compelling culinary presentations. Measure success through operator adoption and menu placement.
  • Recipe & Costing Database -Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of operator-ready recipes, costings, product applications, and sampling concepts that support business growth objectives.
  • Training & Capability Building -Support delivery of culinary training programs and product knowledge sessions that improve operator competence and increase UFS product adoption.
  • Customer Relationships -Build strong customer relationships that position UFS as a trusted culinary advisor and partner for sustainable business growth.
  • Marketing & Promotional Support -Provide culinary expertise and execution support to key marketing programs, activations, future menus, and innovation campaigns.
  • Brand Representation -Represent Unilever Food Solutions professionally within the foodservice industry while maintaining high standards of culinary excellence, professionalism, and business ethics.

Experiences & Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Culinary degree, diploma, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Demi Chef in a professional kitchen environment, or at least 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie.
  • Strong culinary fundamentals with the ability to create operator-relevant menu solutions and product applications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercially minded with an understanding of food cost, menu engineering, and foodservice operations.
  • Passion for culinary innovation, customer engagement, and continuous learning.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of foodservice trends and operator challenges is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and digital productivity tools.
  • Willing to travel extensively within the assigned area of responsibility.
