Salary €14.50 per hour
Be the Friendly Face of a Busy and Caring Veterinary Practice
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference every day? At Ark Vetcare Kilmacud, we're looking for a friendly, organised, and professional Veterinary Receptionist to join our experienced team and become the welcoming face of our practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in creating positive experiences for clients and their pets. As the first point of contact for our clients, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every visit to the practice is as smooth, supportive, and stress-free as possible.
About Ark Vetcare Kilmacud
Ark Vetcare Kilmacud is a busy and well-established Small Animal Veterinary Hospital located in South Dublin. We are proud to be at the heart of our local community, providing outstanding veterinary care in a welcoming and professional environment. Our loyal client base trusts us to deliver exceptional standards of care, and our reception team plays a crucial role in maintaining those relationships.
Our modern hospital is equipped to manage both routine and emergency cases, offering a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services. We are committed to providing the highest standards of patient care while creating a supportive and rewarding workplace for our team.
You'll be joining a close-knit group of ten dedicated professionals, including four Veterinary Surgeons, three Veterinary Nurses, two Receptionists, and an Animal Care Assistant. Collaboration, mutual support, and a shared passion for animal welfare are at the heart of everything we do.
The Role
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be at the centre of the client journey, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while delivering a warm and professional service to every visitor.
Your responsibilities will include welcoming clients and their pets, managing appointments through our tailored booking system, answering telephone calls and responding to client enquiries, processing payments and cash transactions, and supporting the administrative functions of the practice. You'll also assist with stock management, coordinate deliveries, maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the practice, and work closely with our veterinary and nursing teams to ensure the best possible experience for both clients and patients.
This is a varied role that requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to confidently manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical environment.
About You
We're looking for a proactive and reliable individual who enjoys working with people and is passionate about delivering excellent customer care. You'll be a confident communicator with a warm and professional approach, capable of building strong relationships with clients while remaining calm and organised during busy periods.
The ideal candidate will have previous receptionist or front-of-house experience within a customer service environment and be comfortable using computer systems, handling data entry tasks, and navigating multiple software platforms. Experience handling payments and discussing financial matters with clients is important, as is a high standard of organisation and attention to detail.
Most importantly, you'll be a genuine team player who enjoys supporting colleagues, takes pride in maintaining a welcoming environment, and shares our commitment to animal welfare and exceptional client care.
Work-Life Balance Matters
This full-time position is based on a 40-hour week, worked across five days between Monday and Saturday. Flexible shift patterns are available, allowing for a healthy balance between work and personal commitments.
The role includes participation in a Saturday rota of one in every two Saturdays, working from 8:00am to 2:00pm, with a day off in lieu during the week. There are no Sunday shifts, no Bank Holiday requirements, and no out-of-hours commitments, giving you the opportunity to enjoy a predictable and balanced working schedule.
