The Trauma Registrar maintains a data base unique to the trauma population. This can include identification, collection, coding, scoring and entering of data into the trauma registry data base as well as performing follow-up for the purposes of incidence, treatment and outcomes, performance improvement, administrative planning and marketing, support programs, and research activities.Job Requirements:Education:   High school diploma or equivalent, RequiredLicenses and/or Certifications:Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) within one year of employment for experienced registrars and three years of employment for new registrars, RequiredCertified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) Certification or Abbreviated Injury Scaling (AAAM) Course Completion, PreferredFor campuses going through American College of Surgeons verification, CAISS certification is required for a designated staff member to meet verification standards. The department will assign this responsibility based on qualifications.Work Experience:2 years of trauma registry experience at a Level I trauma facility, PreferredMethodist Mansfield Medical Center is a 294-bed, full-service acute-care hospital serving North Texas and certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke and Heart Attack Center by The Joint Commission.
