Summary:
Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused GI Technician to join our Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab team. The GI Technician plays a vital role in supporting physicians, nurses, and patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures. This position is responsible for assisting with procedures, preparing equipment and supplies, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and infection prevention.The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced procedural setting and is committed to providing an outstanding patient experience.

Responsibilities:
Assist physicians and nursing staff during gastrointestinal and endoscopic procedures.
Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies before each case.
Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopes and other procedural equipment according to established guidelines and regulatory standards.
Transport and position patients safely and comfortably for procedures.
Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and notify leadership of shortages.
Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and transport.
Support patient care activities under the direction of licensed clinical staff.
Ensure procedural areas remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Maintain accurate documentation related to equipment processing and quality controls.
Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Respond effectively to the needs of patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Qualifications:
High School or GED required.
Minimum 1 year customer service experience required, hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
Experience or training in GI Lab procedure room setting is preferred
BLS required.
