This role bridges engineering and operations, contributing to infrastructure architecture, build standards, and technical solutions while also providing hands-on operational support. The Systems Engineer collaborates with architects, cybersecurity teams, and administrators to ensure infrastructure is secure, scalable, and compliant with DoD and Intelligence Community security standards. The position requires onsite support 90% of the time, limited travel, U.S. citizenship, and an active TS SCI and eligible for CI Poly. (Camp Smith) Salary $177-207K Essential Functions/ Job DutiesWork directly with customers, architects, and engineering teams in a technical roleAssist in the design and implementation of Windows and Linux infrastructure solutionsDevelop and maintain system build standards, baselines, and configuration guidanceSupport system deployments from bare metal through production environmentsEvaluate infrastructure requirements and recommend technical solutionsSupport integration of compute, storage, networking, and virtualization platformsMonitor system performance and recommend improvements or optimizationsSupport backups, disaster recovery planning, and system recovery operationsEnsure infrastructure designs and implementations adhere to STIGs, RMF, and IC security requirementsParticipate in security reviews, technical exchanges, and design discussionsProvide escalation support and technical guidance to system administratorsMaintain engineering documentation, diagrams, and system design artifactsSupport audits, inspections, and accreditation activitiesPreferred QualificationsStrong Windows and Linux system engineering experienceExperience with virtualization platforms and enterprise infrastructureKnowledge of system hardening, security controls, and compliance frameworksFamiliarity with ACAS, SCAP, and system auditing toolsPreferred CertificationsCompTIA Security+VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Microsoft Windows Server certification   About ActioNetActioNet is a CMMI-DEV Level 4, CMMI-SVC Level 4, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, HDI-certified, woman-owned IT solutions provider with 25+ years of stellar performance.
