Commercial Client Advisor
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Commercial team at Marsh. This role can be based in our Plymouth, Exeter, or Newquay office. This is a hybrid position, requiring you to work at least three days per week in the office and two days from home. Depending on your office location, there will also be an anchor day each week where all colleagues are expected to attend the office.
In this role, you will support Client Executives throughout the full insurance renewal cycle, helping to deliver exceptional service to Commercial clients and insurer partners. You will play a key role in the placement process, assisting with renewal strategies, managing client requirements, and ensuring the smooth administration of insurance programmes.
The Client Advisor position is ideal for someone with experience in insurance account handling, claims, underwriting, or a similar client-facing environment who is looking for a new challenge within a market-leading insurance broker. We would also welcome applications from individuals with strong customer service or account management experience from other industries, as well as A-Level leavers who are looking to build a long-term career in the insurance sector.
We will count on you to:
Support Marsh Client Executives regarding placement strategy for insurance renewals and administer mid-term changes to risk.
Request and review underwriting information on behalf of Commercial clients and understand their requirements.
Prepare and submit accurate market presentations and slips in consultation with the Client Executives and the Placement Team.
Utilise Marsh online trading systems to collate and negotiate renewal terms with existing and prospective insurers.
Collaborate with Client Executives and Placement Teams to prepare client reports for renewals.
Produce and/or request Insurer documentation.
What you need to have:
Previous experience in an insurance, account management, or any other insurance related client-facing role or a strong academic record and a desire to get into insurance
Strong communication, literacy, and numeracy skills
The ability to remain calm and professional when managing competing priorities and working within a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and tasks simultaneously.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications and other business systems.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering excellent client outcomes.

A good awareness of clients’ business, their business issues, insurance programmes and service plans.
