Finance Administrator
Join our team working on iconic infrastructure projects like CityLink and the West Gate Tunnel, where Downer plays a critical role in maintaining assets and providing rapid incident response across Melbourne’s major road network.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Finance Administrator to join our team as an Operational Support Officer based in Southbank, VIC. This role is to ensure the financial administrative requirements of the contract are achieved for Downer to sustain growth and aid business performance. This role involves an in-depth knowledge of the contract operations & obligations in relation to the finance administration, while also providing broader administrative support to the operational team to ensure efficient day to day running of the contract.
The day to day
Raise, receipt and manage purchase orders in accordance to procedure.
Ensure plant, labour and sub-contractor costs are distributed accurately
Monitor open commitments to ensure accuracy in accordance to procedures.
Support the operational team in meeting financial deadlines for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, EOM close out, results.
Update internal systems with financial data
Analyse data to identify over and under recoveries, and implement improvements
Ensure contractual obligations are met for progress claims, invoicing, payments.
Providing a great customer experience
Provide general administrative support to the operational team, contributing to the overall success and performance of the contract.
Contribute ideas and learnings to the continuous improvement program that builds operational excellence
Implement and ensure compliance of all existing & new policies, procedures and regulations
What you’ll bring
Diploma or related qualification in business administration and/or finance highly desirable
Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
Experience using financial software (preferably JDEGS)
Excellent analytical and numerical skills
Advanced MS Excel skills
Sharp time management skills
Strong ethics, with an ability to manager confidential data
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving ability
