Job Summary
Provides strategy and leadership to team responsible for enterprise project and portfolio management activities. Oversees project and portfolio management across mergers and acquisitions (M&A), growth, and other business initiatives - ensuring successful delivery of programs while maintaining strong financial governance. Demonstrates oversight for technology project portfolios, supports quality assurance, capital planning and budgeting efforts, and ensures delivery excellence.
Job Duties
- Supports strategy development, vision and direction for project and portfolio management activities across the Molina enterprise. Demonstrates accountability for performance and financial results, and keeps executive leadership apprised.
- Leads cross-functional teams supporting delivery of multiple project portfolios to include dependencies, risks, timelines, and execution across organizational initiatives.
- Manages portfolios to include technology, business, change initiatives and integration efforts.
- Ensures multiple programs and projects are synchronized in alignment with organizational priorities, governance standards and business objectives.
- Leads intake processes, prioritization, protocols and escalation pathways.
- Oversees quality and risk management across projects.
- Manages portfolio delivery across multiple functions including but not limited to quality, risk adjustment, and enterprise information management (EIM).
- Demonstrates understanding of multiple projects and relationships between projects and represents as an expert in project management methods and techniques.
- Assesses projects for potential problem areas; investigates, develops, and evaluates solutions to a wide range of complex problems spanning across multiple projects within portfolios.
- Provides oversight into go live technology initiatives and other programs.
- Supports artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, HR, technology and transformation initiatives.
- Introduces improvements to portfolio planning practices, including clear scope delineation to ensure robust and accurate initial cost estimates.
- Provides guidance to ensure alignment between portfolio delivery plans and financial commitments.
- Collaborates closely with stakeholders to develop functional/SIT, regression, E2E and performance test scope.
- Monitors test execution, identifies risk and mitigation plans, and communicates with project stakeholders.
- Leverages industry leading testing trends and tools, such as test automation, AI and synthetic data generation.
- Hires, trains, manages and evaluates team member performance - provides coaching, development, and recognition ensures ongoing appropriate staff training, holds regular team meetings, and drives communication and collaboration.
- Develops and sustains a high-performance team, dedicated to best-in-class solutions; responsible for attracting, developing and retaining top-tier talent to support strategy and long-term business objectives.
Job Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in health care operations, technology, integration and project and portfolio management, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- At least 5 years of management/leadership experience.
- Deep project and portfolio management experience.
- Advanced Agile, Jira, and AI experience.
- Strong experience supporting quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across a highly matrixed organization.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Office suite/applicable software programs proficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Formal training in project management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Six Sigma green belt certification.
