The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around

3000+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project

Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning.

Mission Statement:

Design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. Based on technical specification from end customers and inputs from OU Engineering team, prepare Protection principle SLD, Schematics substation layouts, sections, Bill of materials, RFQs, vetting of vendor offers, engg hours estimation, visit to project sites, technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation etc

Coordinate with Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Project managers, SCM, Secondary and civil / steel design functions, consultants, end customers etc. and provide required support in each Project / Tender.

Your responsibilities

Able to perform the following activities:

  • Preparation of Base Design documents like Protection block diagram, Interlocks Diagram, System overview diagram, Bill of material Document, Pre cable list, Heat dissipation calculations.
  • Preparation of Protection schematics for Feeder, Transformer, Busbar, Bus Section, Bus coupler, capacitor bank, Reactor.
  • Preparation of Control Schematics with BCUs and Mimics for various bus systems.
  • Preparation of design intent document analyzing scope of work, technical guidelines and Customer specifications and applying in schematics
  • Preparation of Cubicle Schematics for Metering, General control, RTU, SCADA, Telecom system.
  • Preparation of manufacturing documents (Assembly, Layouts, Labels, Apparatus) for Cubicle and Boxes production.
  • Preparation of Interface drawing by referring HV equipment’s, Marshalling boxes, CT, VT and other station devices AC and DC Distribution boards e.t.c
  • Preparation of IED configurations for various protection applications like Distance, Differential, Overcurrent, auto reclose, synchro check e.t.c
  • Preparation for pre cable list and cable interconnection schedule with proper cable routing.
  • Review and validation of above-mentioned documents against checklist and ISO standards
  • Preparation of Project budget for this scope of work and delegation plan if working in team for larger scope of work.
  • Preparation of various types of reports during project execution according to customer expectations and easy operation.
  • Preparation of Test Procedures for IED testing and Cubicle testing for FAT and SAT activities.
  • Preparation of as built and As delivered documents with customer templates and customer formats to understand the varying needs.
  • Should take responsibility and ownership for his work and have complete control over the project scope assigned to him.
  • Able to measure the project problem and give suitable solutions with identifying root causes and share the learnings with team members and control plan preparation to mitigate them.

Background:

  • 8-10 years’ experience within Electrical Engineering Industry.
  • Should Worked in Various Power Plants and Grid Substations from 11kV to 400kV & 8.86MW
  • Expertise with handling Hitachi (REL670, RED670, RET670, RES670), GE, MICOM, SEL, NARI, TAPCON, REG-D, IEDs.
  • Handled IED Testing kits like Omicron CMC 256,356, and Megger.
  • Knowledge of Cubicle types (RESP, MNS, Rittal) and Equipment mounting standards.
  • Knowledge of Test switches, Auxiliary relays, MCB, Wire types, terminals, Switches, digital meters, Push buttons, Indication lamps from various manufacturers.
  • Knowledge on Substations AIS/GIS Devices like Breakers, Isolators, Earth switches, Transformers, capacitors, Reactors, statcoms e.t.c
  • Knowledge on relay setting for various protections
  • Knowledge of Configuration tool like PCM, Digsi, Agile or any equivalent software’s
  • Proficiency in required CAD design tools, E-plan, El-Master and E3 or any other equivalent Design tool.
  • Knowledge of Substation SCADA Networks and Protocols
  • Should have creative knowledge and good presentation skills.
  • Excellent English speaker, good communication skills
  • Dynamic and Proactive, willing to grow in the organization.
  • Should have Knowledge on Lean process and applied principles in the work.
