NTT DATA is currently looking for a Tech Consultant - Data Engineer (hybrid: London + remote) for our growing team in the UK.
Job Title: Tech Consultant – Data Engineer
Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Tech Consultant – Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, cloud-based data platforms, and big data technologies. The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, data architects, data scientists, and application teams to build reliable, secure, and high-performance data solutions that support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
Day to Day Job Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes from multiple data sources.
- Develop and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data lakes to support business reporting and analytics.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Optimize data pipeline performance, scalability, reliability, and data quality.
- Implement data governance, validation, and security best practices.
- Troubleshoot production data issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Develop reusable data frameworks and automation for data processing.
- Support CI/CD deployment of data engineering solutions and participate in code reviews.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow Agile development practices.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and building enterprise data pipelines.
- 4+ years of experience with SQL, Python, and ETL/ELT development.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- 3+ years of experience with Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, Hadoop, or other big data technologies.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Glue.
- Knowledge of streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub.
- Experience with data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Synapse Analytics.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
- Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, or other enterprise domains.
- AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Google Professional Data Engineer, or Databricks certification is preferred.
