RN - OR Per Diem

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse is specially trained in hemodynamic monitoring and therapeutic equipment necessary to provide specialized medical and/or surgical nursing care to acute or complex, post procedure/operative patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides safe, age‑appropriate perioperative patient care, including medication administration, IV titrations, invasive lines, monitoring, ventilator management, and emergency response.
• Assesses and documents patient conditions, recognizes clinical changes, reviews test results, and supports evidence‑based plans of care, pain management, and discharge planning.
• Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate high‑quality care, delegate tasks, and advocate for patient needs.
• Demonstrates compassionate, culturally sensitive communication while ensuring compliance with nursing standards, infection control, HIPAA, and patient safety.
• Qualifications include active CA RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, English proficiency, schedule flexibility, adaptability in a fast‑paced environment, and 1 year of critical care/PACU experience or completion of a critical care training course.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Active, current, and unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Graduate of an Accredited Professional School of Nursing
• AHA Basic Life Support
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekend, and holidays
• Ability to maintain flexibility and composure in a constantly changing environment
• At least One (1) year of critical care or PACU knowledge and experience or completion of a 6-week critical care training course

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
• Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN)
