General Insurance offers a broad range of products to customers through a diversified, multichannel distribution network.About the roleWhat you need to know:To provide promptly and commercially sensitive, pragmatic and practical high-quality legal support and advice in a cost-effective manner to the business stakeholders on the assigned Gulf and North Africa Cluster (“Cluster”) operations/areas of expertise (“Assigned Scope”). The Assigned Scope within the Cluster may change depending on the business needs.  To provide support and guidance to Cluster operations and the wider legal function with regards to legal risks arising in the Assigned Scope.To proactively advise Cluster operations and the wider legal function on the impact of regulatory and legislative developments and ensuring that any such developments are adequately reflected in transaction documentation and businesses processes for Cluster operations generally.To ensure that appropriate stakeholders are fully briefed on major issues arising in the Assigned Scope and major legislative and regulatory changes through established reporting processTo be the key point of contact for regulatory interaction within the Assigned ScopeCoordinate outside legal resources on key projects under supervision and in line with the Companies legal procurement policies and budgetsProvide functional advice or training to less-experienced attorneysTo maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with all team members within the Cluster legal team, Cluster operations and the wider legal team.Stay up to date and comply with AIG GLCR policies and procedures and enterprise wide policies and proceduresWhat we’re looking for:At AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why team members come together in the office four days per week.  This approach helps us work together effectively and create a supportive, connected environment for our team and clients alike. Qualifications & Education:Degree in LawExperience:Experienced and confident practitioner able to understand and deal with a wide range of issues, from complex to administrativeUp-to-date knowledge of developments in own industry sector and familiarity and industry body terms and documents;Excellent communication skillsAble to work in a team but able to manage own workload independentlyMotivated self-starter with experience of managing a demanding workload and balancing competing stakeholders requiredKnowledge:Knowledgeable and proficient use of personal computer Practical experience with software application including MS Word, Power Point, Access and Excel. Ability to perform various duties with deliberate speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision.
