The Opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy’s Research Center in Krakow as an R&D Operational Specialist – Experimental Research, Testing and Measurements and become part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team working across materials science, mechanics, and energy technologies. In this hands-on role, you will support cutting-edge research projects by conducting advanced laboratory measurements, operating specialized testing equipment, and generating high-quality experimental data. Your contributions will directly support the development of innovative technologies that help build a more sustainable, flexible, and secure energy future.
How You Will Make an Impact
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of laboratory equipment used for material characterization and testing
Design, prepare, and execute experimental tests supporting research and development projects across multiple technical domains
Perform mechanical, thermal, electrical, and vibroacoustic measurements, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection
Support researchers in experiment design, sample preparation, test setup, and execution of laboratory activities
Analyze and document test results, ensuring high standards of data quality and traceability
Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, laboratory procedures, and quality standards
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary research teams to deliver experimental solutions that meet project objectives
Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory methods, equipment utilization, and knowledge sharing within the team
Your Background
BSc or MSc in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, testing systems, or industrial measurement environments
Practical knowledge of experimental methods and material characterization techniques, with experience in mechanical, thermal, electrical, or vibroacoustic testing considered an advantage
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple experimental activities simultaneously
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently
Fluent in English, with the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary and international research environments
