We are looking for a motivated and curious Junior Backend Engineer to join our growing R&D team. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to build scalable products that make a real impact on healthcare. You'll have the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute across both frontend and backend technologies while taking ownership of meaningful features in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Backend services.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to design, build, test, and deploy new capabilities.
- Participate in code reviews and continuously improve code quality.
- Work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while learning best engineering practices.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to improving development processes.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience as a Backend or Software Engineer (or equivalent experience through military service, internships, or significant personal/open-source projects).
- Experience with Python programming language.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and backend application development.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
- Exposure to event-driven systems, messaging technologies (e.g., SQS, Kafka), or asynchronous programming.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Interest in AI technologies, LLMs, or AI-assisted software development.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
