Management of the site occupational health services. Provide professional advice to site leadership in regulatory compliance, occupational, and population health. Define and implement programs and projects in the occupational health field to meet company-wide health goals.

Leadership for Occupational Health Services:
Responsible for direct delivery of on-site clinical services and operational management. Applies expert knowledge and extensive experience to administer appropriate clinical management. The activities include medical evaluation, assessment, and establishing a treatment plan. Provide care direction to attain adequate health recovery and prompt safely return to work.
The Solventum site medical supervisor applies expert knowledge and extensive experience in clinical operations to solve a variety of complex problems. The Solventum site medical supervisor leads the development and implementation of clinic protocols and procedures based on clinical practice standards and legislative requirements for clinical services. Supervises nursing and other clinical staff to ensure the proper functioning of the Occupational Health Services. Leads projects to continuously improve clinical services and efficiency.
Leadership for Solventum Occupational Health and Preventive Health Programs:
The Solventum Site Occupational Medicine Leader directs the Site’s Occupational Health and Preventive Health programs. According to the site population health needs and regulatory requirements, these programs may include occupational medical surveillance, pandemic preparedness, travel health, cardiovascular risk reduction, hypertension, etc. Responsibilities include program planning, development, implementation, and assessment according to professional and quality standards and policies. Work in partnership with the site Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources and other stakeholders to provide professional advice on the wide range of Occupational Health and environmental health and safety programs not limited to: Medical Elements in the EHS Management Standard, clinical services, return to work, disability and case management.
The on-site medical leader is responsible for program implementation, determination of key process indicators, quality improvement, and overall program evaluation.
Business Unit/Plant/Locations Support:
The Solventum site medical leader is also recognized as a medical expert and professional consultant within the organization. Communicates and advises internal and external clients, such as Plant Manager, facility Environmental Health and Safety Manager, Human Resources Manager, and other site leaders on preventive health initiatives, occupational health programs, Solventum Global Health Standard, data privacy regulations, disability, and medical case management and other regulatory requirements. The on-site medical leader also interacts and collaborates with other country sites. The Solventum site medical supervisor communicates the human health effects of potential hazards and mitigating strategies to employees. Participates in and communicates results of human health investigations (such as investigation of infectious disease or cancer clusters at the location) to management, employees, and other stakeholders. The Solventum site medical supervisor manages approved the budget of the clinical service.
Supervision to on-site occupational health nurses and other health care professionals:
The Solventum site medical supervisor Provides direct supervision to assigned employees through leadership, coaching, training, and development. Allocates work assignments, reviews progress in achieving objectives, manages employee compensation, performance appraisals, diversity, disability, or relevant employee data. Understands and enforces corporate/location policies and procedures. Takes appropriate action to address policy violations. May manage workforce vendors and contracts.

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine from an accredited and recognized institution.
Medical Doctor (MD) with an active license to practice medicine in Costa Rica and current membership in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Costa Rica (Colegio de Médicos y Cirujanos de Costa Rica).
At least five years of experience in Occupational Health/Occupational Medicine, preferably in a corporate or enterprise environment.
Experience in return-to-work and disability management, as well as knowledge of applicable occupational health legislation and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of ergonomics, medical surveillance programs, and occupational health regulatory requirements is required. A strong understanding of local occupational health and safety regulations is essential.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including valid training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), is required.
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
Fluency in English language skills
Basic knowledge in excel, reports, power Bi or data analyst skills.
