Your Role: Regional Consulting Veterinarian (RCV)

As a Regional Consulting Veterinarian (RCV) for the US Pet Health Business Unit, you will serve as the technical veterinary expert for sales representatives, corporate hospitals, and universities. In this role, you’ll be responsible for educating veterinary professionals on Elanco’s Pet Health portfolio and fostering relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to drive business success.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and deliver scientific presentations to customers, sales teams, and at veterinary industry meetings.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and provide dedicated support to assigned Veterinary Colleges.
  • Lead technical training for current products and support the execution of new product launches.
  • Monitor scientific literature and stay current with relevant medical technologies to provide high-level clinical expertise.
  • Collaborate with Strategic, Specialty, and Retail Accounts to provide technical guidance and support regulatory compliance for adverse event reporting.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

Education:

  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary program with a DVM or VMD degree; must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the US.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing veterinarian in companion or mixed animal practice (industry experience also considered).
  • Clinical diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment with a valid US driver’s license.

  • Advanced degrees in veterinary medicine or experience in a referral/specialty practice setting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, specifically in public speaking and technical presentations.
  • Previous animal health industry experience with knowledge of regulatory requirements for adverse event reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and make sound decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Deep understanding of the companion animal market, product categories, and associated medical conditions.

  • Travel: 60% - 75%
  • Location: Upstate New York (Albany preferred) - Remote (Field-Based)

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $130,500 to $217,500 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death ­benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
