As a Network Engineer II, you will be involved in designing, implementing, and maintaining FiberLight’s network infrastructure, working collaboratively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams. You will ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our network while gaining exposure to advanced routing protocols, network automation, and Layer 2 technologies. This role provides opportunities to take on increasing responsibility in telecommunications engineering projects.


Key Responsibilities:

· Contribute to the design, implementation, and management of network infrastructures.

· Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS.

· Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python and Ansible.

· Use GitHub for version control and collaboration on network automation projects.

· Conduct network performance analysis and implement optimizations.

· Ensure network security and adherence to industry standards and compliance.

· Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.

· Provide guidance and support to junior engineers on technical tasks.

· Help document network configurations, procedures, and basic designs.

Requirements

· 5 years of relevant experience in networking or telecommunications.

· Solid experience with BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing protocols.

· Proficiency in Python and Ansible for network automation.

· Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.

· Strong understanding of Layer 2 networking technologies, including MPLS and EVPL.

· Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and other major network equipment manufacturers.

· Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP) are a plus.

· Knowledge of network security practices and technologies.

· Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).

· Experience with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) technologies is a plus.

· Experience working with remote Technicians on site
