Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Design Services Supervisor.

What you’ll do:

The Design Services Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day coordination and execution of design support activities within the Design Services team assigned. This role oversees the assignment, prioritization, and tracking of Change Orders (COs), ensuring timely and accurate completion of design deliverables. The supervisor manages a team of CAD designers, balancing workload distribution, maintaining schedule adherence, and driving accountability to meet business objectives. This position combines technical design expertise with team leadership, requiring active involvement in complex design work while guiding and developing team members.

Job Responsibilities A. Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a team of CAD designers, including work assignment, prioritization, and performance monitoring. B. Own and manage the Change Order (CO) process by reviewing incoming requests for completeness, assigning priorities, estimating effort, and maintaining an accurate and organized backlog. C. Assign work to design resources based on capacity, skill set, and business priorities to ensure efficient utilization and on-time delivery. D. Monitor and report on team workload, CO status, and key performance metrics to the Design Services Manager. E. Ensure timely execution of design tasks, proactively identifying and resolving resource constraints or schedule risks. F. Provide technical guidance and oversight to designers, supporting the development of robust 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation. G. Review and approve design outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards and best practices. H. Support cross-functional project teams by coordinating design support for new product development, product lifecycle support, and cost reduction initiatives. I. Drive continuous improvement in design processes, CO workflow management, and team efficiency. J. Maintain and enforce proper use of Product Data Management (PDM) systems and CAD data governance. K. Assist in onboarding, training, and mentoring new team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing. L. Participate in resolving design challenges, including conflicting requirements, manufacturability concerns, and documentation improvements. M. Contribute hands-on to complex design assignments when needed, including modeling, detailing, and prototype evaluation. N. Promote adherence to company standards, safety practices, and engineering procedures across all design activities.

Qualifications:

Education level required Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electronic or Electromechanical Mechatronic,) Industrial Design or related field.

Years and area of experience required Minimum of 4 years of experience in related functions.

Minimum of 2 years supervising people

Technical knowledge Advanced knowledge of Creo Parametric, Enovia, and MS Office applications reqired Additional Adobe Illustrator & AutoCAD experience also preferred. Advanced knowledge of engineering technical drawing best practices Familiar with requirements of design for manufacturing (molding, stamping, casting, machining, brazing, assembly) Working knowledge of assembly tolerance stack analysis Fluent in English, including technical and business terms #LI-MB2
