Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sea freight plans to optimize shipment efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
  • Manage end-to-end sea freight operations, including booking, documentation, customs clearance, and final delivery.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure proper documentation for audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and share reports on shipment milestones, delays, operational performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines along with claim handling, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners.
  • Monitor shipment progress to ensure timely deliveries, operational excellence, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable import/export regulations, trade policies, and industry standards.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in sea freight logistics, import/export operations, or international shipping.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive freight rates and service agreements.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs procedures, international trade regulations, and shipping documentation.
  • Experience managing end-to-end freight operations, including bookings, documentation, and team coordination where applicable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to improving operational performance.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in logistics management systems, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to ensuring timely deliveries and exceptional service.
