About Netwealth
Netwealth isn't just a company. We're shaping the future of wealth in Australia. Our award-winning platform and NextGen technology empower advisers and investors to achieve more, and we're proud to be recognised as one of Australia's most innovative FinTech businesses.
Since 1999, we've grown rapidly by challenging the status quo. We move fast, think big, and stay agile. Free from unnecessary bureaucracy so we can deliver smarter solutions for our clients and create real impact.
But what truly sets us apart? Our people. We're a team of curious, optimistic and courageous individuals who collaborate to make life better for more Australians. We value authenticity, and agility, and we believe in creating an environment where you can do your best work, grow your career, and feel part of something meaningful.
If you're looking for a place where your ideas matter, where innovation is celebrated, and where you can help shape a brighter financial future, join us at Netwealth.
At Netwealth, the products we build help financial advisers support Australians through some of life's biggest moments, from building wealth and planning for retirement to securing their financial future. As a Software Engineering Manager, you'll have the opportunity to shape the technology behind that experience while helping talented engineers grow and do their best work.
We're looking for a people-first engineering leader who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for coaching, collaboration and continuous improvement.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting time to join Netwealth as we continue to evolve how we build, deliver and operate technology.
You'll lead a high-performing software engineering team within one of our product domains, partnering with Product Managers, Architects and Engineering Leaders to deliver secure, scalable and reliable solutions that create genuine value for our customers. You'll help shape technical direction, influence architecture, improve engineering practices and create an environment where ownership, quality and innovation thrive.
Just as importantly, you'll play a key role in developing engineers, fostering a culture of learning and helping teams deliver meaningful outcomes with confidence.
How We Work
Our technology organisation is built around a simple belief: we get the foundations right so the exciting work compounds.
That means:
Engineers own what they build and run, with the autonomy to make decisions and the accountability to see outcomes through.
Quality is everyone's responsibility, built into the process from the start rather than inspected at the end.
We focus on outcomes, customer value, reliability and continuous improvement.
We invest in automation, observability and modern engineering practices to help teams move quickly and safely.
We believe leadership and technical excellence are equally valuable career paths and we're committed to helping our people grow in the direction that's right for them.
What You'll Do
Lead, mentor and develop a team of software engineers.
Partner with Product Managers to define, prioritise and deliver high-quality software solutions.
Drive technical design, architecture and engineering standards across your product domain.
Deliver secure, scalable and resilient systems using modern cloud and software engineering practices.
Build and maintain integrations with enterprise and third-party platforms using APIs and event-driven architectures.
Champion DevSecOps, automation, observability and continuous improvement.
Contribute to engineering communities and help raise capability across the broader technology organisation.
Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, curiosity and learning.
What You'll Bring
You'll bring a blend of technical depth, leadership capability and a genuine passion for helping others succeed.
We're particularly interested in leaders with expertise across:
Building and leading high-performing software engineering teams.
Modern software architecture including microservices, distributed systems and event-driven design.
Cloud-native development, ideally within Microsoft Azure.
DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and automated quality practices.
Enterprise integrations using APIs, SaaS platforms and authentication frameworks.
Agile delivery within cross-functional Scrum teams.
Stakeholder management, technical leadership and influencing outcomes across multiple teams.
