The Deputy Manager will play a crucial role in developing, validating, and standardizing injection moulding processes for new and existing moulds. They will qualify moulds, support production commissioning, and establish robust parameters to maintain consistent quality and performance. This role is integral to the success of the Mould Tool Development (MTDM) department and the overall research and development efforts of the company.
- Conduct T1, T2, and follow-up mould trials at supplier sites to assess mould functionality and process capability.
- Qualify new injection moulds at suppliers before dispatch, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Execute mould commissioning and validation at production plants, aiming for First Time Right (FTR) performance.
- Optimize moulding process parameters for repeatability and efficiency.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify and eliminate moulding defects, ensuring defect-free components.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including setting sheets, reports, and SOPs.
- Coordinate with mould suppliers for trials, process optimization, and timely delivery of moulds.
- Support cross-functional teams, including Production, Tool Room, Quality, and R&D, for successful mould commissioning.
- Provide technical support and training to production and tool room teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Plastic, Polymer, or Tool & Die Engineering.
- 8-12 years of experience in injection moulding process development, mould qualification, and production commissioning.
- Scientific Injection Moulding certification is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with injection moulding machines from leading manufacturers.
- Strong knowledge of plastic material processing (PP, ABS, PC, etc.) and hot/cold runner systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Creo for interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Understanding of DFM principles and mould construction.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001/45001 systems and documentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
